Golden Pinot Noir 2021
In 2019, wine grapes throughout California ripened at low sugar levels due to a long, cool growing season. Winegrowers praised the 2019 fruit for its ample flavor, fresh acidity, and excellent balance.
The wine is made using sustainable farming methods. Monterey County offers perfect conditions for growing Chardonnay. Summer days are warm and dry, while nights are cooled by Pacific Ocean breezes and fog. The long growing season produces complex flavors. Rocky and volcanic soils can impart rich fruit flavors with firm acidity and minerality.
Aromas of ripe cherries, dried strawberries, typical Monterey roses, and hints of earth and oak. The palate is fruity, well balanced with oak, with cherry pie, fresh melon, and terraced rose nuances. Smooth finish and good acidity for a long time.
There are many theories as to why California is called the "Golden State". In the summer, the mountains are as golden as the sandy beaches and deserts. Since the Gold Rush, dreamers, pioneers, and freedom seekers have flocked here.
For winemakers, California is a wonderful environment in which to grow grapes. Warm sunshine, cool ocean breezes, fertile soils, and respect for the terroir are the ingredients for a great vintage.
We say "Golden" when everything in life is going well and we see nothing but success. It is with love for life and the Golden State that we present our newest wine, "Golden".
