Golden Chardonnay 2021
The 2020 California vintage was a very difficult one for viticulturists and winemakers, with COVID-19 and three fires, but it was also a year of rare high quality fruit harvests.
The wines are produced using sustainable farming methods. Monterey County offers perfect conditions for growing Chardonnay. Summer days are warm and dry, while nights are cooled by Pacific Ocean breezes and fog. The long growing season produces complex flavors. Rocky and volcanic soils can impart rich fruit flavors with firm acidity and minerality.
Aromas of peach, pineapple, and orange blossom. Not too rich, but a perfect balance of fruit, minerality, oak and acidity. The oak is subtle, adding a bit of vanilla bean and nut mellowness.

There are many theories as to why California is called the "Golden State". In the summer, the mountains are as golden as the sandy beaches and deserts. Since the Gold Rush, dreamers, pioneers, and freedom seekers have flocked here.
For winemakers, California is a wonderful environment in which to grow grapes. Warm sunshine, cool ocean breezes, fertile soils, and respect for the terroir are the ingredients for a great vintage.
We say "Golden" when everything in life is going well and we see nothing but success. It is with love for life and the Golden State that we present our newest wine, "Golden".
