Château Latour Martillac is located in the Graves district of the Bordeaux region, a famous wine-growing area that is also home to Château Haut-Brion.
As the name Graves means "pebbles and gravel," the gravelly soils are ideal for growing high-quality Cabernet Sauvignon, and the hills of Martillac, where the chateau is located, have a patchwork of gravelly soils that are ideal for Merlot and the white wine varieties Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon. The terroir is ideal for Merlot and the white wine varieties Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon.
