Château Latour Martillac is located in the Graves district of the Bordeaux region, a famous wine-growing area that is also home to Château Haut-Brion.
As the name Graves means "pebbles and gravel," the gravelly soils are ideal for growing high-quality Cabernet Sauvignon, and the hills of Martillac, where the chateau is located, have a patchwork of gravelly soils that are ideal for Merlot and the white wine varieties Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon.
